This is the Sound and Lighting test for the corridor scene, during which we consider the brightness from the oposing window and also the lights above the movement, and how this could effect the overall effect of the opening shot. During this test shot there is a clear understanding of the character, this is helped by the window on the left hand side projecting a natural bright tone, however the tone was not to bright to affect the camera, also at the same time we were analysing the sound sufficiency, this test shows us that the sound picked up from the recording device are efficient enough for use in the preliminary task, therefore this means that we do not need to record the backtrack for the footsteps over the top (this sound is important in order to create tense atmosphere) instead we can use the actual sound given out by the movement being made.
Dark Room Entry: Sound and Light Checks
This is the Sound and Lighting test for the dark room entry, however this room was not the exact room we hope to use for filming therefore the shade of lighting and possible sound may differ, however prior to filming we will cheack the availablity of the room in order to achieve the most out of our time in the room. However we believe that the difference is slim between rooms as we took the neccesary measure such as using the same time of day (for the test shots) in order to make sure that the actual film will be as similar as possible. Despite this, the sound of the door opening was evidently picked up by the camera, and also sounded as if it was amplified due to the silence of the room. Also the lighting was not ideal as this room offered more in terms of brightness and this prevented us from achieving a tense tone in and amongst the room, therefore this further adds to the reason for ensuring that the particular room we want ia available upon recording.
Dark Room Stationary: Sound and Light Checks
During this Sound and Lighting test we can evidently see that the conditions are similar to that of the Entry to this particular room, this is beaucse despite an alternative angle the degree of brightness is still the same, and therefore is not an ideal location for filming, especially when taking into consideration the tense and dramtic emotion we are trying to create.Nevertheless this underlines the importance of test shooting, in order to understand idealic and problematic settings for filming, but also considering the problem that we encounterd with the entry for the room, we are now aware that we need to idenify a room with a sufficienlty decreased amount of lighting, otherwise our scene will not match with the surroundings, and this is pivitol when trying to achieve visual effect. Overall the sound gatherd was similar to that of the Dark room entry as their was a slight degree of background sound and also that any other sound within a 3 metre radius is picked up and amplified. But in our proposed location this is not the same case as all sound in neutral.
The park: Sound and Light Checks
Whilst filming the test shots for the park, we needed to consider; the current weather conditions, future weather conditions. These apects will prove vital ,as during this clip we see that the weather is slightly overcast, we then decided that this is the ideal weather conditions, as it will reflect and create a tense and dramatic tone due to its dull and eery atmoshpere. However during this clip there is limited background sound, this was beacuse we idenified popular times of the day and the effect that this would have on the sound, evidently it was clear that by filming later on in the afternoon, not only would there be a darker tone of weather but also the background sound would be significantly reduced due to the few amount of people around at the time. Also beacuse of the time of day no people will be evident amongst the background, this is important becuase should there be people present this will take away from the dramtic and mysterious affect we are trying to create.
